Island One small islandand everythingthat grows on it

The stone
Eighty centimetres of bare stone, alone on the ocean. Everything after it is at its real size: the albatross spans two and a half metres.

Overcast
A cloud deck over everything, the sun spread to an 11° disc to give it a direction and nothing more, a silver-green sea.

Eleven beats
Thirty-two frames apart, each with a camera of its own. Rain fills a hollow, a spring wells up, an albatross crosses and does not land — and everything grows from there.

Loops
Each of these is a two-second loop in Cycles: the frame holds, and only the living things move. From the fifth beat on, the lens is at f/5.6.

Live
Rebuilt to run live in the browser from Blender’s own cameras, growth and light. The sea is not a loop: a wave spectrum cut into twenty-four trains.
