How we
use AI.

The way we use any tool: where it makes the work better, never in place of judgement. A person directs everything we make and checks everything we deliver.

  1. A tool, not the author

We use AI where it makes the work better: drafting and testing code, trying ideas early, and the slow parts of 3D and rendering — first-pass models, denoising, upscaling.

A person decides what we make, designs it, writes or edits the words, checks the details and signs off everything we deliver. You deal with people, not chatbots.

  2. Your material stays yours

We don’t put your confidential material — plans, drawings, unreleased work, personal information — into AI services without your permission.

Where we do use one on your project, we choose services that don’t train on what we give them, and we tell you.

  3. What you own

You own what we hand over. We don’t knowingly deliver anything we don’t have the right to give you, and if you ask which parts of a project involved AI, we’ll tell you.

  4. Honest pictures

A visualisation shows the design as it will be built. We don’t use AI to invent views, finishes or landscaping that aren’t in the design — unless we’ve agreed it with you and say so on the image.

  5. This site

Some of the 3D on this site began as AI-generated models that we then rebuilt, lit and rendered ourselves. AI coding assistants helped us build it, and we test what ships.

  6. Your privacy

Personal information you send us is handled under New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020, and isn’t fed into AI services.

  7. Questions

Ask us anything about how we work: hello@pumice.nz.
